Bios Brief for the Adding Our Voices Project Founders

Rabbi Dr. Goldie Milgram has been honored by the Covenant Foundation, served as founding chair of the first project for Jewish women’s studies at any institution of Jewish higher education (RRC), and among her nine published books she produced the first gender-inclusive book of Jewish short stories: Mitzvah Stories: Seeds for Inspiration and Learning, which won a National Jewish Book Award. Her innovative principles, methods, and resources for Jewish life and learning have also been featured by the Jewish Futures Conference.

 

Rabbi Rayzel Raphael is an award-winning singer-songwriter and liturgist with six recordings to her credit. She has collaborated on three albums with the all women a capella singing group MIRAJ. Her solo recordings, Friday Night Revived and her Bible Babe’s a Beltin’ CD have received international acclaim. She serves as spiritual leader for Darkaynu, an independent congregation in Warrington, Pa. Author of two children’s books: Angels for Dreamtime and New Moon, she is also a Judaica artist. 
 

Dr. Sarah Ross is the Director of the European Centre for Jewish Music, Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media. She is the author of author of A Season of Singing: Creating Feminist Jewish Music in the United States (HBI Series on Jewish Women, Brandeis University Press; 1 edition (August 16, 2016).
